LCHS Envirothon Teams Excel at Competition

The Area 5 Soil and Water Conservation District held its annual Envirothon on April 25 at Scioto Metro Park in Grove City. The competition is designed to stimulate, reinforce and enhance interest in the environment and natural resources among high school students.

Each student on an Envirothon team is challenged to test their knowledge of soils, forestry, wildlife, aquatic ecology and current environmental issues. The Team is coached by Lara Hamilton.

The top four scoring teams from each area Envirothon are eligible to compete in the State Envirothon and this year the Lynchburg-Clay Gold team placed 4th and the Mustang team tied for 5th.   The state contest is on June 12-13 at the Ohio Christian University in Circleville. Both LCHS teams are coached by Lara Hamilton.

Gold Team members are Kelsey Arnett, Grace Brownsberger, Sydney Morris, Lindsey Throckmorton, and Branson Young.

Mustang Team members are Leah Bauer, Belle Brinkman, Kurt Hamilton, Joey Stewart, and Kara Williams.
Congratulations to the teams.
