The Lynchburg-Clay FFA Chapter will be recognized at the 88th Ohio FFA Convention in May as a Top 10 Chapter Overall in the State of Ohio! This is the fifth year in a row that Lynchburg-Clay has received this prestigious honor.

In order to receive this honor, the chapter submitted the National Chapter Award Application earlier in March to the Ohio FFA. The application considers three areas of development which includes: Student, Chapter, and Community Development. In addition to being named Top 10 Overall, Lynchburg-Clay FFA Chapter has also been ranked in the Top 10 Chapters in all three areas: Student Development, Chapter Development, and Community Development.

Specific activities include: volunteering at HOPE Emergency and the Ronald McDonald House; hosting a Greenhand Night to honor all first year FFA members; holding the annual Greg Wilkin Memorial Alumni Basketball Tournament; working with the Lynchburg Lions Club to host an annual Truck and Tractor Pulls; assisting with the Southern Ohio Antique Tractor Pullers’ Association’s pulls; and raising funds for Karing for the Kessinger’s and Bailey’s Believers.

The Lynchburg-Clay Chapter has also been ranked as a Gold Medal Chapter, which is awarded to the top 10% of all chapters in Ohio. There are over 300 chapters in Ohio.

To determine the final placings, six Lynchburg-Clay FFA members will give presentations based on the activities that were submitted on the National Chapter Award Application at the Ohio FFA Convention on May 5-6 at the Ohio Expo Center.

The Lynchburg-Clay FFA Chapter has 72 members that are enrolled in Agriculture Education in grades 9-12. The chapter is advised by Ms. Stacie Rhonemus. The chapter would like to thank all the community businesses and individuals that have assisted throughout the school year on our various activities.
