Lynchburg-Clay Young Farmers Donates to Lynchburg-Clay FFA Chapter

 

The Lynchburg-Clay Young Farmers Chapter held a meeting on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Lynchburg-Clay Agriculture Education Room. Members in attendance included: Gerald Hawthorne, Terry Hoggett, Stan Markey, Rick Wilkin and John Workman. The meeting was called to order by President John Workman. Members heard an update on the FFA Greenhouse project by Stacie McKee, FFA Advisor. Previously the Young Farmers were an active group of local individuals that were dedicated to its organization by providing agriculture education opportunities to the community and students enrolled in Agriculture Education. However, a formal meeting has not been held for nearly 10 years. Due to the group’s inactivity, Mr. Markey voted to donate all remaining Young Farmers’ funds to be used towards the FFA Greenhouse Project. This motion was seconded by Mr. Hoggett. Mr. Markey informed the group that the Young Farmers had just over $7,300.00 available. Following the discussion, a vote was cast by the members. The motion passed unanimously.  The motion to adjourn was moved by Mr. Markey and seconded by Rick. The motion to adjourn was passed.



Lynchburg-Clay Young Farmer Treasurer, Mr. Stan Markey presented a check in the amount of $7,327.63 to Lynchburg-Clay FFA Advisor, Mrs. Stacie McKee at the July 25thLynchburg-Clay Board meeting. The Lynchburg-Clay FFA Chapter greatly appreciates the generous donation that will help with the Greenhouse project.
