Mustangs earn 2nd consecutive SHAC Div. I championship
For the first time in school history, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs are back-to-back Division I Southern Hills Athletic Conference champions. The Mustangs did so by battling a tough Fayetteville team, eventually winning by a 68-62 score, Friday night.

The win by LC moved them to 15-4 overall and 11-1 in the SHAC, leaving them with just one SHAC game left on the schedule, which is Ripley next Friday. As for the SHAC championship, LC now has four conference championships in school history, with the first three coming in the 1992-93, 2003-04 and 2015-16 seasons.

“We’ve taken everybody’s best, and these kids have got to do something pretty special to clinch the league outright on their home floor and the first team to win back-to-back conference titles,” LC head coach Matt Carson said.
