Lady Mustangs Make it to The Final Four

The smiles, laughs, hugs and tears of joy were not just the product of earning a spot to the Division III State Final Four by the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs. Those emotions poured out because they were able to take the next step in a journey that for the seniors of this team began four years ago.

On Saturday at Logan High School, the Lady Mustangs cemented their legacy into the lore of the Lynchburg-Clay record books by becoming just the second program in the history of the school to gain a regional championship. They did so by using their defense, physical play and soccer smarts to defeat the previously undefeated Bishop Rosecrans Bishops, 1-0.

The Division III State Semifinal match will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8 against Cincinnati Country Day at Lakota East High School. CCD is 18-1-2 overall. They earned their spot to the State Final Four by defeating Madeira, 3-2 in overtime.
